Ekow and Nana tell stories
Nana Afua Pierre

"I am passionate about my African heritage so naturally the stories I am interested in telling relate to Africans and Diasporan Africans in the Americas and Caribbean. I'm also interested in the accessibility of our writing to this audience.
Having stories with black and African children as protagonists is not only beneficial within those communities, but for everyone else too. We all stand to gain from diversifying children's literature in any country because our populations and global interactions are also beautifully diverse.
I also illustrate, so I consider myself an artist as well as a storyteller. It's my ambition to tell these stories to the widest audience base until they changes the faces of our everyday heroes."
